Hi, I’m Aastha Mehta, a student from Mumbai, India who likes exploring what happens when ideas meet the real world. From designing products and studying businesses to writing poetry and performing on stage, I’m interested in how things work, how they could work better, and what it takes to turn an idea into something real.
Exploring ideas, questioning assumptions, and turning curiosity into action
My work spans healthcare innovation, entrepreneurship, and research, from developing assistive wearable technology to exploring how businesses can create opportunities within communities. These experiences have taught me that building a solution involves more than identifying a problem. It requires listening to the people affected, questioning initial assumptions, and understanding the practical realities that determine whether an idea can work.
I'm particularly interested in the relationship between business and technology: how products are designed, how decisions are made, and how innovation can be made both accessible and sustainable. I enjoy moving between research, experimentation, and collaboration, learning from perspectives that challenge my own along the way.
Beyond my independent projects, I work with students and community initiatives to make entrepreneurship more accessible and encourage others to explore their ideas. Across these experiences, I'm driven by a common question: how can we turn good ideas into solutions that make a meaningful difference?

I sing rock and pop and have completed Grade 8 with Trinity College London. I’ve performed at Tanishq and Tarun Tahiliani corporate events and at public shows. Through the Chains Initiative, I also use live performances to raise money for Yasham NGO.
I write poetry about identity, city life and social justice, and publish it on The Prolific, a platform I started in 2023. My work has been shortlisted for the Bennington Young Writers Awards and the John Locke Essay Competition.

A wristband that taps you when it's time for your medicine.
Founder & Inventor
MediBrace is a low-cost wristband that uses gentle vibration to remind people to take their medicine. I began designing and prototyping it at 13, then interviewed more than 300 users and caregivers to understand how it could be easier to use. I was also invited to present the idea at the IIMA & TiE Mumbai Health Summit to healthcare professionals and angel investors.
Four hours. One idea. One pitch.
Programme Designer & Facilitator
I designed four-hour entrepreneurship bootcamps for students at NGOs and public schools. In one session, students develop an idea, design a product, work out costs and pricing, and pitch it to the room. I adapt each session to the students, using Gujarati, Hindi or English.
Taking NGO classrooms off paper.
Founder
While tutoring at Yasham NGO, I noticed how much time teachers spent on attendance registers and handwritten progress notes. I have built OmniEd to bring attendance, syllabus tracking and progress reports into one place. It is designed to work on entry-level phones with limited data and is being piloted with more than 50 students at Yasham.
How will India look in ten years? I asked the people building its businesses.
Independent Researcher
I interviewed six business leaders across industries to explore how Indian consumer behaviors are changing and where demand may be heading. The final compiled report is in the process of being published.
Same name on the sign. Very different deals behind it.
Independent Researcher
Who owns a store, who runs it, and how does a brand stay in control? I compared 2 brand’s franchise structures, looking at ownership, brand control and store economics. I turned the research into a bound report and presentation for a retail audience.
A murder mystery game, from the first clue to the Amazon listing.
Creator
I spotted a gap in India’s party-game market and created Suspecto, an original murder mystery game- from the story, characters and clues to the packaging. I worked through the decisions involved in bringing it to market, including pricing, production and sales. Suspecto is available on Amazon and has also been sold at live events such as Soundrise.
Research & analysis
Experiences that have taken me beyond my own projects and introduced me to how businesses work in practice.
Titan Company Limited · Tanishq
Data & Strategy Analyst · 2026
I analysed 2 years of customer feedback from Tanishq (India's largest & leading jewellery brand) stores across India to identify why some visits did not translate into purchases and where the customer experience could improve. By understanding product and process gaps, I developed a strategies to improve store interactions and conversion. Some of these were adopted by Titan Company.
Group Trident
Business Operations Intern · 2024 to 2025
At Group Trident, I explored the business behind a multi-brand retail operation, where different brands operate through franchise partnerships. I worked across areas including import-export processes, franchise-related operations and compliance, while understanding and interpreting reports and learning how different franchise brands operate within a shared retail ecosystem, how business decisions are made, and how operational and commercial priorities are balanced. The experience gave me a closer look at how a retail business coordinates different brands, manages its operational requirements and keeps everything running behind the scenes.
Created blog content and contributed to digital marketing initiatives, exploring how startups build their brand presence and reach target audiences. Worked on content strategy and audience research while developing an understanding of SEO and how it improves online visibility.
